A crazy night at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field on this first leg of the 2019 MLS Playoffs.  This will be the fourth time these two sides have faced each other in the playoffs, last time being in 2016.

The first goal of the night came curtesy of Sounders’ Raul Ruidiaz with a long-range kick past Dallas keeper Jesse Gonzalez and into the left post (18’).

Seattle’s Jordan Morris slipped past Dallas’s defense and received a pass from Joevin Jones into the left side of the box, doubling the hosts’ lead minutes later (22’).

Dallas retaliated and got back into the game later in the first half, with Reggie Cannon passing around Roman Torres and scoring from a close range (39’).  Matt Hedges equalized for the visitors, scoring Dallas’s second goal of the night with a powerful header from a corner kick (64’).

Jordan Morris again put the hosts in the lead, falling into the goal line and deflecting a ball in to score (74’).  Minutes later, Brian Acosta scored with a header from the left corner of the goal area (82’), again equalizing the score and sending the teams into overtime.

Nearly two hours from kick off, Jordan Morris scored his hat trick with yet-another header from close range, sending the Seattle Sounders to the Conference Semi Finals (113′).  The Sounders will host Real Salt Lake on Thursday, October 24th.
