Orlando FC 0 – 2 New York Red Bulls

Although it was Brazilian Night at the Citrus Bowl, with Orlando celebrating the summer invasion of Brazilian tourists from native home of the team’s captain Kaka. Still, things did not go well for hosts Orlando City F.C. on Saturday night, as visitors New York Red Bulls came determined to ruin the party.

Saturday, July 18, 2015

A great and action-packed game from kick off, went New York’s way with Red Bull’s Sacha Kljestan scoring a brilliant goal, curling the ball from the left side, 20-yard line into the top right (21’).

Orlando did control possession in the first half, but suffered a devastating blow about half an hour into the game probably sealed the hosts’ faith for the night. Orlando’s forward Cyle Larin ran into Red Bull’s midfielder Sacha Kljestan, and picking up his knee failed Kljestan and was sent off with a red card (32’). This is the 3rd match in a row that hosts Orlando FC are playing with 10 men.

Orlando did try to fight, defend and even created chances, but what finished the match was New York’s Mike Grella making an amazing run between Orlando’s defenders into the top right of the box, and scoring a solo goal at the end of the night (91’).
